The lovely Kate at Reading Through Infinity announced her second year of the Easter Readathon here. It is running from Friday 19th April to Monday 22nd April, hence the name Easter readathon, as it is a holiday weekend, but of course it is not just for those who celebrate.
My birthday is actually the 18th April and so I personally have booked that off work and will have a 5 day weekend!!
I am hoping I can get everything I need to do out of the way on Thursday, (and maybe buy some books!) so that I can dedicate the rest of the weekend to reading!
I am also participating in ARC Attack so I would like to tie in my TBR with that as much as possible, but I am also in a massive contemporary mood. I especially just want to read chick lit if I am being honest. I will see where the weekend takes me, as I would rather read books I am in the mood for, even if they don’t fit the challenges.
The Quiet at the End of the World by Lauren James
Challenges – Involves an animal or pet
Now, this is not an ARC or early finished copy or contemporary… But it is a book I was highly anticipating and I still haven’t managed to get to it, a month after release. I need this push to pick it up, and apparently it has dogs in it.
A Girl Like That by Tanaz Bhathena
Challenges – Author of colour
I have been wanting to read this since the end of last year but again have not gotten to it. I picked it up on holiday in America in September last year so I would like to finally cross it off my TBR.
Again, but Better by Christine Ricco
Challenges – About new beginnings
I have gone with this as the protagonist signs up for a semester abroad in London. I received a copy via Netgalley, it fits in with ARC Attack and it is contemporary, so I think I am onto a winner here.
Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
Challenges – Graphic novel on your TBR for ages & an LGBTQIAP+ book
I found this a tough one as I don’t own any graphic novels I need to read. I also don’t read many in general, so this is one I have had my eye on for a while and I might use this as my excuse to buy a copy finally.
The Flat Share by Beth O’Leary
Challenges – A new to you author & yellow or green on the cover.
I have pre-ordered a signed copy into my local store because I am DYING to read this. It better be there on release day, the 18th April, so that I can read it for the readathon. I am pretty sure it will be my first read and I am hoping to fly through it.
The only challenge I have left is a Spring or Summer themed book. I’ve really struggled to pick this one. For me, Spring/Summer reads are light and fun, e.g chick lit, which is just what I fancy reading. Not many explain if they are set at that time of year so I might just pick up one that I fancy at the time and count it as completing the challenge? Or just hope that one of these is set in Spring/Summer and I will realise when I start reading? Is that cheating??
Are you taking part in the readathon? Let me know what you plan to read in the comments!
Heartstopper is just amazing!! Enjoy x

Good luck with this! Readathons don’t tend to fit in with my life unfortunately.

Thank you, I totally understand that, I’ve only managed a few tbh, working full time doesn’t lend itself well to trying to read 7 books in 7 days normally haha.
