Marvel Avengers Book Tag

My lovely friend Beth from Divine World of Books tagged me to complete this and you can see her post here. It has taken me forever to get around to completing this but I made it finally!

I am not a huge watcher of Marvel but in the last few years I have seen a fair few of the films and I have always enjoyed them! But the prompts still work if you watch Marvel or not so have a go if you fancy it!

Iron Man: Favourite first book in a series

Honestly, this wasn’t the first book that came to mind. ACOTAR was the first but I answer that to so much so instead I am going with The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. This was so full of intrigue and I was totally hooked, but yet I was let down by the rest of the books in the series. I wanted more answers after how much I loved the first book.

Captain America: A book that takes place in a different time

I read A Sky Painted Gold because it was a book club pick, it didn’t sound like my thing, but I ended up really enjoying it! It is set in the 1920’s and honestly the characters personalities and banter made it for me. I have a full review that you can see here.

Thor: A book character you liked more after they were casted

I’m not too sure about a specific character but a whole book would be Crazy Rich Asians. I felt really let down that the book wasn’t full of drama, but when it was compressed into a film I enjoyed it more. Also, it was a gorgeously produced film.

Hawkeye: An unpopular book you liked

Photo of the After series by Anna Todd

My stock answer for this as always is the After series by Anna Todd. Yes, they can be problematic, but look, they are also such fun and I love the drama.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch: A book with a sibling duo

Meet Cute by Helena Hunting has a lovely sibling dynamic. When Daxton’s parents pass away he moves back into the family home to be a guardian for his little sister. He always has her best interests in mind and its just really sweet.

Loki: A villain that you love and you can’t help but be attracted to

I haven’t read enough books with villains!! Please rec me some in the comments! I guess the only one that comes to mind is Victor from Vicious, I don’t know if I’d say attracted to, but he is such a great character.

Antman: A book you’ve been meaning to read

Er, every book ever?? I am so slow at getting to books I am excited for! I think the first one that comes to mind is The Quiet at the End of the World because I was so excited for its release. I even started it a few weeks ago but I just got sucked down a chick lit hole…

Black Widow: A side character that you wished had their own book

I really struggled with this one, but eventually I’ve decided on Alex’s little crew of friends in Red, White and Royal Blue. They are all so unique and interesting and I’d read a spin off about each one of them!

Hulk: A book you can’t talk about without getting angry

Photo of Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Somehow, I actually wrote a really diplomatic review of Outlander, which you can read here.

But essentially, my main problem was the treatment of women. Rape is just glossed over and the author could have commented on this more. I know it is correct of the time, but it doesn’t feel right.

Ultron: Favourite snobby child

Literally no clue… This is an odd question and I can’t even answer it #sorrynotsorry
